MAG Consultancy, the leading hedge fund
governance consultants, has today been voted winner of the ‘Best General
Advisory Firm’ at the HFM European Hedge Fund Services Awards at the Hurlingham
Club, London, in recognition of its contribution to the Segregated Managed
Account Platform (SMAP) sector.
Presented by the former leader of the Liberal Democrat Party, Charles Kennedy, MAG’s Managing Partners Simon Hookway and John Godden were both delighted to collect the prestigious award. In a little more than a year, MAG has grown from a standing start to the leading position in the sector and now advises clients with over $100bn assets under management, including EIM and the Butterfield Fulcrum Group.
The judges were particularly impressed with MAG’s unique prominence in
the sector “With managed accounts the hot ticket in 2009, only one firm managed
to corner the market in expert knowledge. MAG Consultancy has leveraged this
position to grow quickly and is currently advising a host of blue-chip
clients.”
In a joint statement Hookway and Godden affirmed “Through its focus on accountability through good governance, this Award demonstrates MAG’s huge influence and expertise in the key area of the asset allocation. With investors demanding all aspects of control, verification and transparency to be held separate and away from the hedge fund manager, we are delighted that MAG has been singly recognised as the provider of choice and prime mover in this sector”
